London United Stamford Brook Garage

After we visited Shepherd's Bush Garage yesterday, we then moved on to Stamford Brook, which is London United's main engineering center, which deals with refurbishments, repaints & conversions.
At the Garage were VA87 which withdrawn from Hounslow more than a year ago, and is still at Stamford Brook, which is going to be converted to a Training bus along with VA84 which was also withdrawn from service at Shepherd's Bush.

TA250 from Tolworth Garage was also here, which is currently a Long-Term-V.O.R along with SLE10 from Fulwell.

Also was and unidentified open topper, which was in plain red, no livery what so ever, which indicates its not part of the Windsor sightseeing ones which are based at Hounslow Heath.

Finally, the other odd bus their was stored DP90, which also was withdrawn from Hounslow more then a year ago.

London United Shepherd's Bush Garage

Today, we went to Shepherd's Bush Garage, West London, which is home to three of Central's London's key routes, the number 49, which runs from White City to Clapham Junction, through Kensington, Chelsea & Battersea. the number 94, which runs from Acton Green to Piccadilly Circus, through Shepherd's Bush, Notting Hill Gate, Lancaster Gate, Marble, Oxford Street & Regent Street. & the third key London route which They run in the 148, created in 2002, due to the congestion charge, which run from White City to Camberwell Green, through Shepherd's Bush, Notting Hill Gate, Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, Park Lane, Hyde Park Corner, Victoria, Parliament Square, Westminster Bridge and Elephant & Castle.

The other two routes which they operate are is the 72 (East Acton to Roehampton, Danesbury Avenue) & the 220 (Willesden Junction to Wandsworth).

SOC1 - which is on loan, as an spare, covering for any Scania vehicles away at Scaina, for warranty work, which is part of the contract LU have with Scania.

Also to note for the past few days now is First's VNW32387 which broke down on the way back from refurbishment, but strangely the engineer who i was talking said, it was bought back here by tow truck and is said to be waiting for First to take it back!

Also, Just to confirm, who ever thought the 72, was not on the Double Decker blinds at V and S, well yes they are on all the buses at S & V. (S/V have the same blinds).

All safety procedures were followed at all times, when inside the garage, we stuck to the marked walkways at all times, and Hi Vi Vests were worn.

At the moment photo images are taken from my Blackberry Curve, which is why some photos are bad, but i am saving for a good digital camera!.

London United Rented Site (Atlas Road)

When visiting the London United & First Depots in Atlas Road on the 24/12/11, i also took some pictures of where London United have more then 50 buses stored.

at the moment, London United have over 100 withdrawn buses around London, some of these include, DP's 34 - 99. VA's 60/61/66/68/78/79/81/82/83/84/87/88/89/98 & 100. DPS's 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/9/10/11/12/13/14/15/16 are also withdrawn, DPS 8 is still in use at Tolworth Garage.

How ever, the old portacabin which was next to this site, with the security men are no longer their, so i could not get inside their, to identify ever bus their, their also loads of buses right at the back of that site next to the back of the First Depot.

Abellio London (Hayes Depot Visit)

Hello All

Today we visited Abellio London's Hayes Depot in West London, it is home to routes 112 (Brent Cross - Ealing Broadway), 350 (Heathrow Terminal 5 - Hayes and Harlington Station), H28 (Osterley Tesco - Bulls Bridge), U7 (Uxrbridge - Hayes Sainsbury's) & the route U9 (Uxbridge - Harefeild), which was taken over yesterday from Arriva.

The Garage is a nice small friendly garage, which is shared with City Circle, which is a coach company.
The Garage have 1 fuel bay, 1 wash & 1 maintenance bay & a small admin block/office.

London United Park Royal Garage

Our 4Th stop today was at London United's Park Royal Garage, this is the former Metroline garage which closed in 2005, it then reopened in 2007 by NCP (now London United), running routes 272 (Shepherd's Bush Green - Chiswick, Grove Park), 283 (East Acton - Barnes), 440 (Chiswich, Power Road - Stone Bridge Park), C1 (Victoria - White City & the E11 (Greenford Broadway - Ealing, Warwick Drive).

Buses based at this garage as of today are:

and just for Christmas day, two trainer VA's from Stamford Brook to make room for buses being kept from Shepherd's Bush Garage on Christmas Day.

First Atlas Road

Our 3rd stop today was at First London's new Atlas Road Depot in Park Royal, their was not much here apart from the allocated spare TNA's. and the 1 with drawn TNA + the new VN's for West Bourne Park Depot for Route 23 which goes from West Bourne Park Bus Garage to Liverpool Street.

I was also surprised that the maintenance facility is not let up and running and that buses were still being maintained by West Bourne Park and a small base in Isleworth.

Metroline CELF Center 1st Visit

Our next visit of today was at Metroline's CELF Center, less than 60 second walk from West Perivale Garage, i was lucky to get their when i did, as the buses were being moved into the CELF Center for Christmas day.

The first ever visit for the blog today was a trip to West Perivale Garage, it is run by Metroline who operate routes 90 (Feltham - Northolt), 105 (Heathrow Central - Greenford Station), 143 (Archway - Brent Cross), 297 (Willesden Bus Garage - Ealing Broadway, 326 (Barnet, The Spires - Brent Cross), 395 (Harrow - Greenford, West Way Cross) & the E6 (Bulls Bridge - Greenford Station).

As you can see from the photos, their was not much to see apart from a few DLD's and DE's in the out side part and DP1015 in the inside part.

Welcome Ladies and Gents to this new blog that i have started as of today, my aim of this blog is to visit and provide back ground information on every London Bus Garage, such as from routes it operates to the bus types operated and of course, photos from my visits, the first garage i will try and visit is Metroline's West Perivale Garage in West London, which operates routes like the 105 into London Heathrow Airport and the route 143 which runs into Archway (close to Central London).

I also will take some pictures around the CELF center which is less than a minute walk from West Perivale Garage, and depending on the sun light tomorrow, i might pop over to the new First Depot in Atlas Road, Park Royal. (this all depends if the staff let me around the garage yards).
